California-based Zero Motorcycles is celebrating years of manufacturing electric motorcycles, an industry that many don't even realize has been around for more than a decade and a half. And to mark the occasion, the company has partnered with the National Forest Foundation to launch a special edition DSR dual sport electric motorcycle.
The DSR electric motorcycle is the company's top dual sport model
Designed to perform on both the streets and the trails. The DSR electric motorcycle is powered by the kW ( hp) Z-Force - engine capable of generating Nm ( ft-lb) of torque. The $, bike can reach a top speed of km/h ( mph) and boasts a range of up to km ( miles) per charge.
Zero presents the DSR as the p Phone Number List erfect way to get out into nature and explore your surroundings without the typical noise and exhaust pollution of gasoline-powered off-road motorcycles.

The popular DSR was used as the basis for the Zero DSR Black Forest , an adventure bike version of the DSR.
Now the DSR is getting another new outfit, although this time as part of a limited edition.
For every sale of the limited edition DSRs, $ will go directly to the National Forest Foundation. To mark the occasion, the limited edition bikes are available in five new nature-inspired colors.
As Zero Motorcycles CEO Sam Paschel explained:
“ZERO WAS FOUNDED WITH A PASSION FOR OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES THAT COULD BE RIDDEN IN THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS. OUR MISSION HAS BEEN TO TRANSFORM THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE WITH PURE ELECTRIC VEHICLES, AND A PASSION FOR CONSERVATION IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN OUR DNA. OUR BIKES ARE AN INCREDIBLE WAY TO EXPERIENCE OFF-ROAD RIDING, EVEN IN AMERICA'S NATIONAL FORESTS, AND WE SUPPORT THE NATIONAL FOREST FOUNDATION IN ITS MISSION TO ENSURE ACCESS TO THOSE LANDS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS."
According to the company, $ from each sale going to the National Forest Foundation will be used to help improve, restore and create ecologically sustainable trail systems for motorsports enthusiasts across the country.

As National Forest Foundation conservation partnerships director Dayle Wallien explained, the foundation is pleased to receive the support:
“WE ARE EXCITED AND GRATEFUL TO PARTNER WITH ZERO MOTORCYCLES ON PROJECTS TO IMPROVE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES AND RESTORE OUR NATIONAL FORESTS. OUR PUBLIC LANDS ARE INCREDIBLE PLACES TO EXPLORE AND RECREATE AND WE APPRECIATE THE COMMITMENT TO HELPING US MANAGE THEM FROM AN INNOVATIVE COMPANY LIKE ZERO.”
DSR has seen a huge increase in demand lately. Much like electric bike sales that skyrocketed early in the COVID- pandemic, off-road electric motorcycles have seen their own sales numbers rise.
As Zero communications director Dan Quick explained:
“THE SPIKE IN ADV/DUAL SPORT MODELS THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY STILL CHASING DEMAND FOR BEGAN DURING THE EARLY MONTHS OF THE PANDEMIC. WE'VE NEVER FOLLOWED THE LACKLUSTER SALES GROWTH TREND THAT TRADITIONAL POWERSPORTS HAS SEEN OVER THE PAST YEARS, BUT RATHER THE MUCH LIVELIER TREND LINE OF OVERALL EV SALES OVER THAT SAME PERIOD. OVERALL, IT'S BEEN A PRETTY CONSISTENT MIX OF DUAL-SPORT AND STREET MODELS OVER THAT PERIOD, BUT THE DEMAND WEIGHTING HAS DEFINITELY INCREASED CONSIDERABLY TO FAVOR DUAL-SPORT OVER THE LAST MONTHS."

With many people working from home and generally finding themselves with more free time for leisure (and looking for socially distant leisure activities), outdoor motorized sports have seen record growth.
